WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR FIRST VISIT?

New Patient Exam.
Standard : Head and Neck Exam, Full Mouth X-ray series, , intra oral pics, visual oral cancer screening , with velscope ( recommended).

CBCT may be needed to provide the best possible care and diagnosis which includes consult.
Please provide a current medical PPO, so we can expedite a pre-authorization prior to your first visit.

What is a CBCT?

CBCT = 3D digital OrthoPantomogram ( Cone Beam Computerized Tomography)

Radiation equivalent to a full set of mouth X-rays.

Why would I need a CBCT?

– I have TMJ issues
– I wake up with headaches, and sore jaws in the morning.
– I have headaches during the day and towards the evening
– I am told I clench and grind my teeth.
– I have a current Sinus infection and I get occasional sinus issues.
– I have pain in my teeth and/ or tooth requiring a root canal
– I have a Broken tooth , which means that it may be cracked below the bone level.
– I was told I need an implant.
– I have Bone Loss,
– I have receding gums.

I have none of the above, so WHY would I need a CBCT?

– To rule out any bone cancer,
– To rule out any hidden infections
– To get the best news of all – that everything looks good based on what information we have.

How much is this CBCT going to cost me ?

– We will use your medical PPO to maximize your out of pocket expense
– If you have an HMO, or no MEDICAL insurance, we charge a minimal flat fee to cover the cost of the machine
– Many times your dental insurance will cover part of the minimal flat fee.
– We will provide more accurate cost information, once we have your insurance information, and have verified benefits.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR SECOND APPOINTMENT?

Hygienic (regular cleaning) unless the doctor recommended a Periodontal Therapy appointment, (deep cleaning) at your first visit.

Second consult if treatment is extensive

What is PERIODONTAL THERAPY?

It is a deep cleaning with local anesthesia of the teeth in areas of active gum disease which exhibit bleeding and/or bone loss.

First Treatment
We suggest starting with treatment on 2 quadrants at a time.

Second Treatment is scheduled usually WITHIN 1 week after the first.
where your hygienist will finish treatment on the remaining 2 quadrants

Third treatment is completed 4-6 weeks after the FIRST treatment date.

What can I do about my receding gums?

Tissue grafting may be required to regenerate the gums and cover up the receded areas, by use  of a specific and simplified technique called – PINHOLE SURGICAL TECHNIQUE.

PRECISION PARTIALS- for patients who are not candidates for implants, and still have a limited amount of teeth left in mouth.

Why do I need all this extra stuff? I just want my tooth pulled?

PRP and donated bone particles are used to prevent the loss of bone, and support the tooth in front, of extracted tooth.

All this sounds expensive. How much is this going to cost me ?

– It depends on your medical and/ or dental policy.
– If you have a medical PPO, we get a pre-authorization to determine your benefits
– We will use your medical PPO to maximize your out of pocket expense
